January 3, 2012 EMMITSBURG, MD — The United States Fire Administration (USFA) announced today there were 81 on-duty firefighter fatalities in the United States as a result of incidents that occurred in 2011. On Wednesday December 14th the LeClaire Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle off the road and submerged in a pond. The LeClaire Fire Department responded to a report of downed power lines at 01:59 hours on October 18, 2011 but the call was quickly upgraded to an auto accident with possible entrapment and the car on fire. The USFA has released their annual report of Firefighter Fatalities in the United States in 2010.
